Lakshya Sports and Amalgam Steel Team Up to Empower the Next Generation of Indian Girls’ Tennis Stars
In a powerful new initiative, Lakshya Sports, a National Sports Award-winning NGO, has joined forces with a prominent Kolkata-based steel company to launch ‘Project Grand Slam.’ This ambitious program is dedicated to discovering and nurturing the future stars of girls’ tennis in India, with the ultimate goal of seeing many more young Indian girls competing at Junior Grand Slam events.
The idea for ‘Project Grand Slam’ was born out of a shared passion for tennis .The vision is simple yet profound: to guide young tennis players from the grassroots level, offering them the support they need to grow into world-class athletes. “In the past five years, only one Indian girl has made it to the Junior Grand Slams. Lakshya believes it’s time to change that. Through this program, we’re aiming to see four or five girls regularly competing in all the Grand Slams. This initiative is about opening new doors for Indian tennis.
Project Grand Slam is more than just a tennis program—it’s a comprehensive support system designed to ensure these young athletes have every opportunity to succeed on the international stage. The program offers:
- Scholarships: Financial support to help the girls focus on their training and competitions without worry.
